Description

Happy Day!

It's based on that one German nursery rhyme, so the art style is different. Here's the first stanza:
Grün, grün, grün sind alle meine Kleider,
Grün, grün, grün ist alles, was ich hab.
Darum lieb ich alles was so grün ist,
Weil mein Schatz ein Jäger, Jäger ist.

And that translates to:
Green, green, green are all my clothes
Green, green, green is all that I have
So I love anything that's green
because my love is a hunter, a hunter.

Who knew that something like that could be so sweet and cheesy???

Before you go, "But comics!Cedric wears blue! :/" and "Orube's robes are green. :/", let it be known that I know that, and that at times I actually refer to the colors they wear as teal in my head, even if it's totally wrong. XD

I imagine that cartoons!Cedric and Miranda are somehow formal with each other (portrayed here as courtseying to each other), while comics!Cedric and Orube are heart-wrenching sweet to the point it's almost gross (portrayed here as skipping about in La-La-Land). Either way, both couples make their acquaintances sick.

Nobody ever drew them together in one picture, so I did. Actually, I've done this so many times before, but this is the first time I post about it. This is also the first time I draw cartoons!Cedric and Miranda in color. (I actually doodle them sometimes... and it usually involves a joke.) I don't exactly ship them, but since it's canon, I shrug.

Points of Discussion

:bulletred: Do you like this style?
:bulletred: Do you want me to draw more of cartoons!Cedric and Miranda?
:bulletred: Is it okay to draw all four of them together?
:bulletred: Which Cedric do you like more, the comics version or the cartoons version? (In terms of character design, character personality, role, etc.)
:bulletred: Would you like to see either/both pair/s dancing under the stars? ouo

A great comparison indeed :) Your style is rather sweet and it could be the picture for this nursing rhyme
you give us beneath :) I dunno why I just think it would make a nice illustration for it. You could even make
more of those and say this is a collection of...German Nursing Rhymes W.I.T.C.H style! :D

Okay sorry getting off the point here :cough:

Anyway I am gonna...differ myself from the rest of people that have commented this and I'd say that I always
loved the anime/show more than the comics for many reasons and one of them was the dark atmosphere...
BUT...I kinda adore both pairings because both of them are two sides of the same coin. Miranda represents
the love that...supports Cedric's evil side in a way while Orube represents his redemption.
I know that many people might think of him as...pedophile in the cartoon but first it might be what you said
(that their human form does not age or mature) but because I study archeology, I see things differently and
even if nowadays it is...shocking and even unacceptable to see a girl be with a man, in middle ages the line
between puberty and adulthood did not really exist. A maiden reaching her puberty also meant that she is
ready to have children, aka be a wife and a mother. Therefore Miranda could belong in that category. In fact
the fact that her age does not show does not mean she is 10 years old or something. Like Elyon who is 13
but still looks like much younger than the girls, this could lead to the result that Miranda could be beyond 13
years of age and for the Middle Ages the age between 13-15 was indeed considered almost adulthood
(if we take under consideration that women would already have a child of their own at the age of 13)

So no, I do not think of it as a pedophile if I look at it through the eyes of a person who used to live in Middle
Ages. In fact I found it...strangely sweet of Cedric to know which was Miranda's favorite snack (even in a very
dark way! :XD:) and it indicates that Cedric cares about her a lot and that they understand each other.
And the nursing rhyme you put below literaly applies for Miranda who is a carnivore creature who hunts!
I think this pairing needs more love out there!

So YES I would love to see more Cedric x Miranda art out there!

Now for Orube, they are both having the typical "love-hate" relationship here but I really liked the way they
presented it in the comics (one of the very rare times the romance was presented nicely according to my
opinion cause I did not like many of the romances in the comics). I really liked it how Cedric slowly develops
feelings for her while she is the one to be firstly attracted to him and later loves him. I like it how both have
sharp minds and senses and how both of them seem to make each other feel more comfortable in Heatherfield
since they are both from a different planet and such. I liked the development between them.
Also the tragic ending of the romance before it even started gave off a certain feeling that left very few readers
untouched I believe... It was the best redemption that could be done for Cedric and I really liked his final love
confession to Orube in his way and she caught it of course...
Your rhyme once more suits Orube too because of her feline nature and such so yes for her too! :)

Now for terms of what I like....Hmm...that is a tough question. Cedric had similar artwork in both anime and comics
so in terms of appearance I do not have much to say, apart from the fact I prefered his real form in the anime
(his snake-form in the comics did not have the same magestic vibe as it did in the anime ^^;) I also adored his
powers more in the anime because I found it kind of exsessive for him to change all kinds of form. In general I
liked the anime more in terms of powers for the characters and Cedric is no ecception. Of course because I prefered
the anime, naturally in terms of plot and role I loved Cedric in the anime more than in the comics...
Hmm...all in all I think I prefer anime!Cedric to comic!Cedric. His personality is shown better in the anime too, especially
in his interractions with Elyon... I mean in the first chapters of the comics he acts first like her friend, then like her teacher
then like her master, then like her teacher again and ends up like her servant... That was beyond weird to me :O I prefered
the way he was close to her in the anime. :aww:
Of course in order to be fair I liked the clothes Cedric had in the comics too. I just think I am more of anime!Cedric fan :D
